Five Festive Films :)

Feliz Navidad!                      #It'sSnowingInMyBubble

Now, Christmas isn't Christmas without dragging every duvet, pillow, blanket, and cat , down the stairs into the living room to cuddle up beside the fire whilst watching your favourite Christmas films and drinking hot chocolates with marshmallows and extra squirty creams .... with sprinkles ! All night long :) So today I thought I'd share with you five of my favourite festive films, Although, not in order because that's wayyyy too hard :)

The Holiday

I've mentioned this film before when I did The Christmas Tag but it's the cutest film ever !!! It's full to the brim with christmassy goodness :) This perfect Christmas Romantic Comedy to make you feel all fuzzy and lovely <3 Two women     ( Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz ) swap houses to take a holiday in a different country to get away from their own lives of which have been torn to bits by their men    ( or rather the lack of the ;) ) only to discover friendship, love, happiness and snow once more in a heart warming tale of smiles :) Plus anything with Jack black in is just destined to be perfect !

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

If you've read some of my other posts you might know that I am in love with Dr.Zeus and his words of whimsical wisdom in rhymes and riddles that I have grown so fond of :) So it's no surprise that this fantastic movie adaptation of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas is one I have watched and will continue to watch time and time again ! It's a great family film which would warm the green-ist of frozen hearts :) I would tell you what it's about but if you don't already know... then I'm confused so take it from me, watch it and you wont regret it :)

Love Actually

I know that a lot of boyfriends get sick of the endless romantic comedies that they're forced to watch over the Christmas but this is one that is actually hilarious and even my boyfriend enjoyed it ! .... before I forced him to watch it seven times aha :) From Prime minister to ten year old's you couldn't think of a love story that isn't provided for ! With an all star cast,  Love actually leaves me crying with both joy, and laughter . A truly wonderful combination for the Christmas season !

Nativity !

I remember going to see the first Nativity with my family when it first came out and on the way to the cinema me and my sister sat on the back seat with my mp3 player trying to learn the words to love story by Taylor Swift ... I'm surprised our parents didn't strangle us ... then again, that wouldn't be very christmassy would it now ? If you haven't seen Nativity, then I highly recommend it ! Who couldn't love this laugh out loud take on the traditional school nativity, set in Coventry cathedral, with a death slide AND a donkey ! .... The obvious setting for a group of primary kids clearly ;)

The Polar Express

I can't explain what it is I love about this film but there's something about the messages in the tickets at the end that makes me smile uncontrollably and fills me with a desperate urge to go and tell every stranger in the street to have a lovely Christmas... which I feel might get me a few weird looks .. which it really shouldn't but we'll talk about that another time :) There's not a single person I know that doesn't love this film and it's so wonderful I can see why that is :)

I hope you've liked these mini reviews :) Let me know what your favourite Christmas films are in the comments !

Today's 'Merry Christmas' was in Spanish and in Spain Christmas Eve is known as Nochebuena or "the Good Night." It is a time for family members to gather together to rejoice and feast around the Nativity scenes that are present in nearly every home. A traditional Christmas treat is turron, a kind of almond candy.

Christmas Shopping Tips !

Wesołych Świąt !                                 #It'sSnowingInMyBubble

One of the best of Christmas is going Christmas shopping, picking out gifts for people that I know will make them smile and putting them together :) So it's no surprise that going to York for a day of Christmas shopping ( and food ) is one of my favourite parts of the build up to Christmas ! I love the lights, the people, the relentless Christmas spirit from every direction ! You can't help but have a smile on your face . York is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to and last weekend I went as usual, leaving at 5am to travel 2 hours and a half there and back, for a day of wonderfully cheerful Christmas shopping ... although I did regret wearing heels ;)

However, whilst being amazing , Christmas shopping can be exhausting and difficult when spending hours trapped between too many people in boiling hot shops but it's so rewarding and fun you can help but enjoy it :) So today I thought I'd share some of my tips for going Christmas shopping :)

1) Dress comfortably, Especially if it's a long journey to get there or you're considering trying on clothes whilst you there. Don't lie to me ! I know that that gorgeous top you found isn't really for your friend ;)

2) Work out how much you have to spend for Christmas presents this year and budget how much you want to spend on each person to avoid over spending and then realising you've forgot to get your second cousins, aunt Barbara a present and now have no money left ;)

3) Put some of your budget aside to spend on yourself, so that you can pick yourself up a few cute presents especially if you're going to somewhere with a Christmas market, then you're bound to see some lovely little handmade things, and if you're anything like me then you wont be able to resist !

4) Take a tote bag ! I'd never really considered this before the year that I'd nearly finished all of my shopping and most of it was in one bag which annoyingly fell apart in the middle of the street , so I now take a tote bag because they fold up small into your bag, just incase of any handles snapping off plastic bags :)

5) DON'T WEAR HEELS ! Just don't . I promise you it's NOT worth it aha ;)

Share your Christmas shopping tips in the comments and your favourite places to go Christmas shopping :) York is absolutely wonderful and if you get the chance then i woult definitely encourage you to go, it's a great day out or weekend away :)

Today's "Merry Christmas" was in Polish and in Poland At midnight on Christmas Eve animals are believed to speak with a human voice.

York Cathedral ! <3

I hope you're having a lovely Build up to Christmas and enjoying choosing and making everyone perfect presents <3 Soon on blogmas I'm going to be doing gift ideas for family and friends post so keep checking back for that or follow me on 'bloglovin' to stay updated with posts :)

Cinnamon Spice !

Joyeux Noel !                         #it'ssnowinginmybubble!

Ahhhh ! Christmas is getting closer !! :D ... I mean, it's only one day closer but it's still closer all the same :) Today in my Advent calender bags I got some chocolate and a super cute reindeer cookie cutter which i might do a DIY with soon :)

But for today, I thought I would use the cupcake cases in yesterdays advent calender bag from my sister to make cupcakes , but I wanted them to be Christmassy so I decided to make mincemeat cupcakes with a Cinnamon frosting ... and sprinkles, because everyone loves sprinkles, right ? :) Considering the amount of improvising, recipe changing and mis-measurements of cinnamon that this bake involved ... it turned out surprisingly okay aha :) So I thought I'd share the recipe with you :) If you try it out then please let me know how it goes in the comments how it goes or if there's anything else you'd like to see in blogmas :)

Mincemeat Cupcakes with Cinnamon Frosting <3

If you want to see how I made and decorated the Reindeer
biscuits the comment down below and I'll do another DIY :)
Ingredients

For the cakes :

200g Caster Sugar
200g Self-raising Flour
200g Margarine
4 Large Eggs
200g of mincemeat ( I used my mums handmade mincemeat but any from a shop just do )

For the Cinnamon Frosting :

100g Butter
250g Icing Sugar
Ground Cinnamon

Pre-heat the oven to 180 Degrees :)

Recipe :

1) Weigh out all your ingredients to make sure you have everything and are all ready :)

2) Put the Caster Sugar, Self-Raising Flour, and Margarine into a bowl, and then crack the eggs on the side of a separate cup or bowl and break the egg into the cup so that any bits of shell can be fished out before they get all mixed up with your wonderful cupcakes :)

3) Whisk the eggs with a fork until they're light and fluffy. Then stir your eggs in with your flour, margarine and sugar in you get a creamy mixture :) I usually disprove of the all in one method but just this once I thought we could make an allowance because it makes this quick and easy, perfect for little christmassy treats for your friends or to make with someone you love :)

4) Now it's time to add the mincemeat... and stir :)

5) Annnnddd Viola ! There's your cake mix :) Now you just need to like your cake tin with some christmassy cupcake cases like these...

6) Fill each cupcake case up with bout a dessert spoon of cake mixture and pop it in the oven <3

7) Whilst the cakes are cooking, you can make the frosting :) Weigh out the Icing sugar and sieve in into a bowl and then melt your butter slightly before adding that with your Icing sugar and mixing and then adding cinnamon to taste and mix it all together :)

8) Take your cupcakes out of the oven when they are risen, golden brown and you springy :) If you put a knife through one it should come out clean :) Once cooked, leave them on a cooling tray before decorating wit cinnamon frosting and sprinkles :)

9) Discreetly leave the kitchen as your mum arrives home and go to your friends house, leaving your mum a cupcake as a thank you pressie for tidying up your mess :)

10) ENJOY ! :D

Did you know, in France In France, a Nativity crib is often used to help decorate the house. French cribs have clay figures in them, not wooden ones. During December, some towns and cities such as Marseilles have fairs that sell Nativity figures. As well as having the normal Nativity figures in them, French scenes also have figures such as a Butcher, a Baker, a Policeman and a Priest.

It's Snowing in my Bubble !!! :D

Fröhliche Weihnachten!

That means, 'Merry Christmas' in German :) Now you might be thinking, "why are you saying happy Christmas, in German ... do you even speak German ? " The answer is no, I don't speak German at all, however I've decided to take part, like many over bloggers, in blogmas :) For those who don't know what that is, it means I'll be posting, everyday up until Christmas on the 25th of December :) Yep, that's right ! Now we're into December and counting down the days, our little positivity bubble of happiness is filling with snow, tinsel and fairy lights until our little corner of the internet, more represents a snow globe than a bubble :) But it's still very happy in here all the same :)

But why German ? Well I've decided that every day of blogmas, we could learn another way to say merry Christmas and at the bottom of each post, in stead of a quote there's going to be a Christmas tradition or fact about that country :) That way, we can spread the Christmas cheer around the whole world ... well at maybe one extra person in a another country but I don't want to be under ambitious ;)  So today I decided to start with German because my sister has recently moved to Germany and she came home to visit this weekend and bought her own variation of an advent calender for me and my mum where she put little presents in numbered paper bags :) Today it was an adorable chocolate teddy bear and some cute Christmas cupcake cases which I will be using in tomorrows DIY Mincemeat cupcakes with cinnamon frosting :)

In Germany, On the night of December 5th-6th, Nikolaustag, St. Nicholas Day, children leave their shoes or boots outside the front door. That night, Santa Claus, Nikolaus, visits and fills them with chocolates, oranges and nuts if they’ve been good.

Have a lovely day :)

What advent caleneders do you have ? Let me know in the comments :)

Doctor Who !!!!

Hello :)

As usual my life is full of lots of fun biology projects, maths coursework and hours studying Romeo and Juliet.. as lovely as he his; I'm not sure how much more Shakespeare I can deal with ;)  So with this massive workload you can assume two things

1) I've not had very much time to write blog posts ( But i'm managing to stick to one a week at least and it's usually on a Monday )
2) There has been A LOT of procrastinating going on ... mainly Doctor Who related as per usual :)

So I thought, before I go write about amino acids, forming proteins and other complicated science-y stuff that I don't understand a word of .  THANK GOD FOR WIKIPEDIA ! I thought I would show you some of the funny and just generally awesome, Doctor Who pictures and stuffs that I found :) Enjoy !

Doctor Who quote 2012. At first I thought it was Percy Jackson.:)I love how he doesn't do anything to allay her fears...he just tells her not to step on butterflies.Haha, David Tennant. My favorite Doctor. I think he is my favorite because of the roller coaster of emotion you ride with him.One of my favorite behind-the-scenes scenes from Doctor Who. - My love for David knows no bounds.

Adipose

Sorry, can't usually stand this meme. But this time it's River and I'm a sucker for anything Doctor Who. Plus I lol'd.Me either, bro - Doctor Who

loved this line. :D

So I hope you enjoyed those and they made you smile :) I'd like to do more of these from Doctor who or other fandoms in the future so let me know if you like them and I might do them midweek instead of Mondays because they don't take forever so I can still post even when my work loads busy and looking for the pictures always makes me smile a lil bit and smiling's good aha :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas :D

Okay , It's Official ! The Christmas stuff is out in Asda ... ITS CHRISTMASSSSSSSS ! :D
Even if my boyfriend (... and everyone else ever ) insists on December 1st being the start of Christmas, I have Asda on my side... so yeah !

Okay so maybe I've gone insane over my excitement for the Christmas spirit and all the happiness that comes with it, but if it makes you happy to be christmassy ... then do it :D Do what makes you happy ! If you're not hurting anyone then it's no one else's problem :) Just be happy <3 I've found myself pretty down recently and stressed ( hence why I haven't written in a while )  but using Carrie Fletchers concept of using your words to fix things and get things back to a place where I'm happy and okay again I'm glad to say I think I'm back to my normal self.. well as normal as I get :) I just want to say right now, please don't compromise your happiness for someone else, you're just as important so tell them how you feel don't let people upset you honey, nicely tell them what they're doing to you because it's not worth being miserable <3 I love you :) So anyways, now I'm feeling more cheerful I'm spending my evening in sat surrounded by Christmas magazines , books and blog plans ( there's so much cool stuff I'm desperate to show you this Christmas ! :D ) wearing my Christmas Pj's and new sparkly cat ears headband and drinking hot chocolate from my new 'Cup of Kindness'  which was a present from my friend the other day and I am absolutely in love with <3 I thought just in case anyone else is already feeling Christmassy I would make a list of my favourite Christmas songs to put me ( and anyone else who wants to be this early) in the festive mood :)

1.  Winter Wonderland :)

2. Baby it's Cold Outside <3

3. Let it Snow

4. Rocking Around The Christmas Tree

5. It's Beginning to Look A lot Like Christmas

6.  I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

7. Merry Christmas Everyone

8.  Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass

9.  Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

10. Jingle Bells

Sooo basically anything involving Michael Buble is pretty much Christmas in a song :) If you want any more early Christmas posts I did a Christmas tag a few weeks ago which you can find here <3  I hope you have a lovely week :) Comment your favourite Christmas songs below <3

Beautiful words :)

Hello sweetie :)

If you just got the Doctor Who reference there then you get 10 points and are as awesome as the words I'm about to tell you about .. and if you didn't then I'm sure you're still pretty awesome because you're you! How could you get any more awesome than that :) On the subject of Doctor Who, Oh my gosh am I the only one who's slightly frightened after the last episode .. I don't even know what to think ! I know one thing though , PLEASE DON'T LET ANYONE CREMATE ME ! ;)

Anyways .. I need to learn to stop waffling. Actually I've started to really like potato waffles recently and ... wait, I'm doing it again aha :) So its no big secret that I'm ever so slightly in love with Carrie Hope Fletcher ( I'll link to her YouTube channel here ) One of the first videos I watched of hers after the Disney Princess song , was about loads of really cool, awesome words that no one really knew about and ever since then I have been collecting beautiful words on my pinterest account, so I thought I'd share a few with you today :)

Koi no yokan
Okay, this ones Japanese but still, the meaning is super cute :) The definition is :
The sense one has upon meeting another person that they will fall in love <3

Selcouth
Unfamiliar, strange, rare, and yet marvellous
( I love that there is a word for this :D )

Cingulomania
The strong desire to hold someone in your arms <3 awwwww :)

Serendipity
Finding something nice whilst looking for something else

Brontide
The low rumble of distant thunder .
( Doddleoddle a Youtuber, wrote a really cute song about thunder storms which you can find here <3 )

Eleutheromania
An intense and irresistible desire for freedom :)

Abracadabra
Although everyone knows this mini magic spell from Aladin, it actually comes from the Hebrew phrase " Avrakehdabra " which means I will create as I speak :)

Collywobbles
I'm not sure I'm ever going to get over the fact that this is actually a word :D It means:
The uneasiness; Known as the butterflies in your tummy <3

Redamancy
The act of loving someone who loves you; a love returned in full :)

Wonderstruck
Experiencing a sudden feeling of awed delight or wonder <3
I know quite a few people know about this word , but it's so cute .. I think it should be used more, I mean even just the thought of the word makes me happy :) Comment if you manage to get it into your day ( Or any of the other words ) and you can have ten points ;) Lets bring back the beautiful words <3

I hope you've had a fabulous week where you experienced serendipity resulting in koi no yokan which lead to redamancy even if it gave you collywobbles at first and now you are overcome with cingulomania at these selcouth happenings, I still hope you have felt wonderstruck at least once, perhaps at the beautiful sound of brontide whilst you are snuggled up in your bed which sparked a sense of eleutheromania in your heart. And if all that just doesn't work out; say ABRACADABRA! and try again <3 :)

I checked the clock at 9:16. Cool air was blowing in through the sun roof and we were drunk off each other's laughter. I was happy.
Todays quotes, I found it on pinterest but cant
find out who wrote it <3 Still, I like it too
much not to show you :)

Comment your favourite word below :)
Lots of love and cuddles <3
