Easy Presents For Difficult People ! #3 Christmas Eve Box :)

Chuc Mung Giang Sinh !          #It'sSnowingInMyBubble

So this will be at least the third time I've spoken about how absolutely impossible men are to buy for .... but today I have a solution ! This would would work for nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, girlfriends or boyfriends or ANYONE ! Everything in these boxes is personal to who you're making them for :) I originally decided to make this for my boyfriend as a way to get him Pyjamas because everyone should have Pyjamas, they're the most amazing and important thing ever invented !!! :D Anywaayyyy .... back to the subject ;) So I've spent the last few months finding bits and bobs to put together his very own,

Christmas Eve Box !

What you will need :
  • Their favourite DVD or just a film that you know they will like ... or you would like to steal from them in the near future ;)
  • Their Favourite Chocolate
  • Their Favourite Popcorn
  • A box ( I bought this Batman one for £6.99 at The Works but I'm sure you can get cheaper ))
  • Their Favourite Pringles
  • Any sweets that they like ( I found a Harry Potter Chocolate frog with a wizard card )
  • Christmas Crackers
  • Candy Canes
  • Presents
  • Mini Santa Sack / Bag
  • Pyjamas
  • Christmas Card
  • Tinsel
  • Popcorn Holder ( £2.99 at Harkins Baazar )

1) Layer tinsel around the bottom of your box for the sparkly ness required in any Christmassy thing ! :)

2) Put the popcorn into the popcorn holder and arrange in the box with the DVD, PJ's, chocolates, crisps, sweets and any other little goodies that you think they might need for the perfect Christmas eve :) You could make a DIY Hot Chocolate kit and pop that in as well ! <3

3) Wrap your presents ( I chose very manly paper for my boyfriend as you can see ;) ) And pop them into the mini Santa sack and arrange them in the box :)

4) Sprinkle your box with crackers and candy canes, add your card ( don't forget to write it first ... I had to unwrap and re-wrap the whole thing three times because of forgetting to do things like that ! )

Now just pop the lid on and wrap the box up, try my " Always time for a bow - wrapping DIY " and give the recipient instructions to keep the box upright and that they can open it and have anything that's not wrapped on Christmas eve :)

Enjoy !

Today's Merry Christmas is in Vietnamese , In Vietnam on Christmas Eve the Christians would attend a midnight Mass. After Church people would return to their homes for the most important meal the Christmas supper. The dinner usually consisted of chicken soup, and wealthier people ate turkey and Christmas Pudding.

There's Always time for a bow ! DIY

Shub Naya Baras !                 #It'sSnowingInMyBubble

After watching Arthur Christmas on repeat for the last three months, I have realised that although "There's always time for a bow " ... I can't tie bows ! So I found a solution on my trusty source of Pinterest and thought I'd show you how you could do the same if you are as incompetent with ribbon as me but still want to wrap your presents easily so they will impress :)

There's Always Time For a Bow - Wrapping Ideas

What you will need :

  • 1 Black Pen ( I got mine for £1 in the works )
  • A roll of brown packaging paper
  • A pencil
  • Sticky tape

.... Yeah that's it, told you this was easy !  :)

1) Wrap your present as you would with any present and turn it out so the side with no tape on is facing up .

2) Use the pencil to sketch out the design for your bow, I've done step by step pictures of the design in the picture above :)

3) Draw over your pencil design in pen your black pen, take a few minutes to do this to make sure you don't slip and get pen everywhere :) And that's all done ! It looks really cute is a lot easier than messing about with ribbon for hours ! <3

Reindeer Recipes ! :)

Nadolig Llawen                     #It'sSnowingInMyBubble

Reindeer cookies I promised, and reindeer cookies you'll get ! These would be really nice to decorate with a younger sibling or to make as quick gifts for friends or teachers :)

Reindeer Shortbread :)

What You'll Need :
  • 225g of Margarine
  • 110g of Caster Sugar
  • 225g of Plain Flour
  • 110g of Cornflour
  • Two Mixing Bowls
  • Spoons
  • Writing Icing Pens in Red and Black
  • Baking Trays
  • Round Cookie Cutter
  • Reindeer Cookie Cutter
  • Rolling Pin

1) Weigh out your margarine and caster sugar and cream them in a bowl until they're well mixed and have a white shine to them :)

2) Now weigh out your plain flour and cornflour and sift them into a bowl together to mix until the two flours are combined :)

3)  Then sift that mixture into your other mixture ( I'm not sure if this is the least or most complicated thing ever ? ) and then mix that mixture until you get a dough ball . You shouldn't eat the raw mixture but in case you're feeling badass like me, It's really yummy :)

4) Flour a surface and put your dough on the surface before rolling it out to bout 1.5 cm thick but make sure the rolling pin is floured or it will rip the dough ... basically flour everything , even your face ! ... Maybe not your face actually ;)

5) Now cut out as many shapes as you can of either reindeer or circles ( Don't worry if you don't have a reindeer one, the circle biscuits look equally cute if not more so :) ) and pop them on a baking tray and bake at 170 degrees for 20 mins !

6) Once your shortbread is cool it's time to decorate :) I've done step by step pictures for each design which are pretty self explanatory and writing icing is fairly easy to work with even if your hands arn't the most steady :)

Circle Shortbread :

 Reindeer Shortbread :

I hope your taste as yummy as mine did :) Let me know if you try making them, in the comments :)

Easy Gifts for Difficult People #2 ( Ice Cream Kit )

Feliz Navidad !                    #It'sSnowingInMyBubble

I really enjoy writing and doing DIY posts for this blog so today I'm delighted to post another DIY for my Blogmas mini series 'Easy Gifts For Difficult People' Today I made a ' Just add Ice cream kit ' because everyone loves Ice cream right ? But it always has to be chocolate flavour doesn't it ? If it's not chocolate then I don't want to know ;) Anywayyss this would do really well for anyone , family, friend and strangers a like :)

Just Add Ice Cream Kit !

What You'll need :
  • Ice cream waffle cones
  • Gold curling ribbon
  • Gold wrapping Box
  • Plastic Icing bag
  • Little Jam Jars ( 50p at Hobbycraft )
  • Ice cream sauce ( I used Chocolate and Toffee flavoured )
  • A Variety of Ice cream Sprinkles
  • Cellophane Bags
  • cellatape
  • Scissors
  • Basket/ Gift Box

1) That four of the waffle cones and put them into the icing bag, then tie a length of gold curling ribbon around the icing bag and curl the ribbons to erm .. make them curly aha :) Add more ribbons until it looks all pretty and add a bow to finish it off :) I also added a chalkboard label because I wanted to play with them .. and it looked cute :)

2) Next squeeze your toffee and chocolate sauce into the little jam jars ( Not both sauces into the same ones in case your as stupid as me ;) ) and pop them in the basket with the cones .

3) Take the cellophane bags and cut them in half. Take the part that still has the bottom bit of the bag in and pour some sprinkles into the mini bag :) Sellotape the top of the bag and then old the top over until you've got it folded down to the sprinkles and then sellotape the bag again just to make sure !

4) Repeat step 3 with the rest of your sprinkles :)

5) Finally just pop everything into the basket or gift box and it's as easy as that ! Perfect for anyone ... unless they're allergic to dairy ;)

Today's Merry Christmas is in Argentine, In Argentina after they toast on Christmas eve the adults dance whilst the children go out to see the fireworks :)

Dreamy Decorations DIY :)

God Jul !                          #It'sSnowingInMyBubble!
My memories of Christmas as a young child consist of many things ... and quite a lot of mince pies ;) But mostly I remember every year, going to the local garden centre to pick out a Christmas tree and bringing it home to decorate it the red and gold colour scheme my sister loved ... whilst i got confused as to why my neon pink, coloured in, paper cut out angel decoration didn't match and how it always ended up back in the decorations box when I left the room ! Thinking back .. I can see my sisters point ;) Tonight Me and my boyfriend faced the terrible task of untangling the fairy lights and then the much less terrible task of decorating the tree together :) I love picking out baubles for the tree and deciding where they'll go ! I mean it's choosing pretty, sparkly things and dangling them from something beautiful and a lit up ... what's not to love ? But I'll talk more about that tomorrow :) Tonight I wanted to show you how I made a cute and fairly easy even if it was slightly fiddly , decoration for the tree which according to Pinterest is Swedish !

Swedish Tree Decorations !

What you'll need :

( You will probably be able to find all this around the house somewhere so if you boxed a few up then they might make lovely little gifts for someone at very little cost ! )
  • White String ( I used bunting string that I found around the house but I'm sure you can get it pretty cheap in Poundland )
  • PVA Glue ( I used clear glitter paint for the 99p store because that way it already had the sparkles in but looking back it would've held it's structure better with glue )
  • White/Silver glitter ( 99p Store again )
  • Scissors

Firstly, work out what word you want to make ( I made love )  and roughly try and make the shape with your string to see how much you need, add an extra 15cm too the length and then cut the string!

Next tie a loop in the end of your string so it's a big enough loop to hang off your tree and cut off any excess string from the loop :)

Now simply soaked your string in glue/ glitter paint and arrange the string to form the letters of your word on some cling film or a plastic bag .. It can be a lil bit fiddly so id do it when you're in a really patient mood aha :) But it's definitely worth the gorgeous results :)

All that's left now is too leave it to dry for between 24 and 48 hours ( I assume it would be fine after 24 ) and then peel the word off you cling film or plastic bag very slowly and gently, before showing off your stunning creation to everybody by giving it prize place at the front of your tree :)

Let me know in the comments when you think the right time to put up and decorate your tree is and if you would like to see any more DIY Christmas decorations !

Today's Merry Christmas is in Swedish ! In Sweden, families sometimes have a straw goat to guard the Christmas tree ! So I guess your lovely handmade decorations would be safe there at least, having their own personal goat guard and all ;)

Stay Strong <3 Stay Smiley :)

I hope you've enjoyed the first week of blogmas !

Much love, Love Muchly
